How Earthquakes are Located
The location of an earthquake can be predicted with precursors. These precursors include changes in ground elevation and variations in strain on different faults. This method is good for predicting the location of earthquakes on a short term notice. Short term location is not that reliable. Long term location is executed by studying the fact that Earth's plates will continue to build strain until they fail again. That cycle repeats itself and makes it easier to predict the long term location of earthquakes.
